Talks and Workshops

Bridging Hearts conducts talks and workshops supporting marriages and families.

1. BGR - Biblical Wisdom for Dating (3 Hrs)

For centuries, many couples marry because of love. Sadly, few remain happy for long in their marriages. Hence, it is a proven fact that marrying because of love is not a good enough foundation for the marriage to be happy and to last. As powerful and important as romance is, it might not be the best reason to get married.

In this session we seek to explore the Scripture wisdom to equip and empower singles in their dating relationships. Some of the challenging and essential questions include:

  • What are good foundations for marriage relationships?

  • Does God have a specific partner for my marriage?

  • Why is God so rigid regarding unequally yoke?

  • How do we have healthy boundaries for safe dating?

  • If sex is only physical, why is the pain of sexual sin so deep?

  • Is our singleness a gift or grief?

2. Stewardship of Parenthood (2 hrs)

Godly parenting is not meant for the selfish and definitely not for the faint-hearted, as its responsibilities are staggering and its rewards dubious and distant at times and in certain cases, only heavenly. However, as children of God, we are called to be stewards of all that He has put under our care and we believe that parenting, is one of the higher, if not, the highest form of stewardship calling.

3. Parenting in a Chaotic World (2.5 hrs)

The world is moving, culture is shifting, its chaotic! What will our children be experiencing in the coming years or even now?

“Parenting in a chaotic world” hopes to provide an understanding of how we can differentiate between worldly worldviews and biblical worldviews.  With this understanding, we will explore how we as parents can prepare our children for what is to come, how we can be the godly parents that is so much needed in this world and how we can respond to our children's needs.

4. Parenting "Adult Children"? (2.5 hrs)

Do “Adult” children need parenting?

Studies have shown that  Millennials have particular characteristics that are very different from the generation before. How can we continue to be the parent that our adult children need? As they enter adulthood, how have our roles changed, and can we still be an influence in their lives?

In this session, we hope to explore how we as parents can be a support and help to our children who are now young adults and how we can continue to be the godly parents that is so much needed in this world.

5. Enjoying Intimacy in Marriage

Imagine a marriage with complete intimacy, vulnerability, transparency and trust. A marriage that enjoys being naked emotionally, spiritually, and physically. A marriage rooted in faith, friendship and mutual fulfillment. This might all sound too good to be true, but it is God's original beautiful design for marriage. Marriage is not mean just to survive but to thrive. This Bible Study seeks to undress all the misconceptions our culture has created to distort God’s intended intimacy in a covenanted relationship.

Topics covered:

  • Biblical Principles of Marriage (1.5 hrs)

  • How to be a Godly and Romantic Husband (3hrs)

  • How to be a Godly and Romantic Wife (3hrs)

  • Unmasking the Relationship Evil (1.5 hrs)

  • Rebuilding the Road to Intimacy (1.5 hrs)

The topics above can be done independently as a topic or conducted in a series requiring 7 to 8  sessions.
